Support Our Work

Helene Relief

We still need your help

While our horses and humans survived, we expect the material and economic destruction to impact us for months, if not years.

Already, being unable to run business as usual since September 27, 2024 has had a major economic impact. This alone doesn't even begin to describe the full impact of Helene, but this alone is enough to determine if this project lives or dies.

It is unclear when or how we will be able to function normally, and your donations help keep this project alive while our region struggles to recover.

Transformative Horsemanship is run solely by Hannah Heiser (she/they) who has dedicated her time and efforts since September 27 to meeting her basic needs, amid power, water, and cell service outages, and to throwing herself into community-led disaster relief efforts. She has dedicated her time and energy to getting clean water to our community, raising money for clean water, and raising money for folks who are on the brink of eviction.

While she has no regrets about spending time and energy on getting her own and her community’s most basic needs met, the time has come to ask for help for her, too.

It has become clear that we will not be able to survive without continued donations this winter. This is likely going to be true for a mass number of businesses and individuals in this area.

Transformative Horsemanship is a unique lesson program that emphasizes the power of relationality in horse-human friendships. We redefine horsemanship in an industry that centers the dominance and objectification of horses and humans alike. Working with total beginners to experienced horse-folk, we work to re-center connection, reciprocity, and love in how we interact with our horses. From the moment you say hello to riding through open fields, there is always the thread of connection reminding us that the reason we do this at all is because we love horses.

We want to continue this work. We believe it is powerful and important because we already see the ripple effects of all who touch it.

Help keep this radically compassionate approach to learning horsemanship and riding alive in Transformative Horsemanship.

While our business is slowly returning, it simply will take time for this region to recover. Without loans, aid, or grants (all of which we have applied for and been denied), it comes down to our community.

The strength, generosity, and power of this community has gotten us this far, and we are so grateful. Let’s not give up now!

Ways to Support

Every dollar counts. Every share spreads the word. Every lesson or Hold Your Horses that you book lays a brick on our road to stability.

Your support has kept our herd together, kept Hannah housed, and given our community an opportunity to nurture some peace amongst the herd.

Let’s keep our hopes high and our hearts forward!

All together now <3
