What’s unique about our lessons?
While riding is something we will place an emphasis on, these are not your typical horse-back riding lessons! These are horsemanship lessons, meaning that we will focus on riding as well as: horse care, body language, emotional regulation, self-awareness, horse awareness, ground work, equine bodywork, human mobility & fitness, and so much more, that all circle around fostering a beautiful, connected relationship with ourselves and our horses.
OUR LESSONS ARE FOR KIDS, TEENS AND ADULTS
Private Lesson
This is 1:1, personalized, custom time just for you. We can work at your pace and get into problem-solving exactly where you are wanting help. Private lessons are suggested for folks who want to deep dive into their horsemanship, have specific learning needs, and/or love to learn in 1:1 environments.
Group Lesson
Our group riding lessons have a max of three total students. Group lessons are offered by age group and level. Group lessons are great for folks who want to learn in community and/or want a more cost-accessible option for lessons.
Youth Leadline Groups
These groups are for youths aged 7-10 who have little to no experience around horses! We have up to 4 students at a time, with no more than a 2:1 child:adult ratio. Riding is included on a leadline (your child will be led by an adult, and not have control of the horse), to build confidence, experience, strength, and balance on the horse. We will cover grooming, tacking, leading, basic horse anatomy, and riding position.
Groundwork Group Lesson
Hone foundational skills with community. A combination of lecture, experiential learning, and hands-on groundwork is used to explore the most essential parts of relating to our horses. Our lessons are silly, heartfelt, and deeply informative. All groundwork is the basis of excellent riding. Our Groundwork Group Lessons host up to 6 students and is open to all ages and all levels of horse person. Students ages 7-12 are required to sign up with a parent.

Subscriptions are heavily discounted and you get priority access to scheduling. We highly recommend opting for a subscription over a drop in!

You do not need to have a horse! We have a growing herd of excellent, safe school horses that we will be working with.

Weather-appropriate clothes that can get dirty!
ASTM/SEI approved helmet (See Ovation brand helmets for an affordable, adjustable helmet!)
Riding pants or leggings (No jeans! Pants with a thick crotch seam wear out our saddles faster)
Boots with a one-inch heel.
Suggested: Water bottle, Snacks, Sunscreen, and Gloves (for cold weather)

Group lessons do not exceed 4 students at a time. If no one else signs up for your group spot, you get a private lesson at no extra charge!

I do travel to other properties! I have a travel fee of $1 per mile, round trip. For regular lessons, I will travel within 15 miles of Asheville. For less frequent lessons, I will travel up to 45 miles. Regardless, if you would like lessons or training on your property, let’s start with a free 15 minute evaluation call.

You can cancel or reschedule your lesson by going to the confirmation email for your lesson and clicking the “Change/Cancel” button. You can also use the “Returning Client” button at the top of our website to get to our scheduling app. At the top right corner of this app, you should see “Returning? Log in”. Click here to manage your appointments.

Once you have booked a lesson there are no refunds. If you cancel more than 24 hours out, you will get a coupon code redeemable for the full amount of the canceled lesson that expires within two weeks. Cancellations less than 24 hours are not given an option for rescheduling or refund, unless under special circumstances. Refer to our Cancellation Policies here.
