We know what it feels like when horsemanship feels right.
It feels like Collaboration, that looks more like a Dance than Domination.
It feels like Connection, that is led by Consent, and led away from Coercion.
It feels Tender because we remember how precious it is to be shown the world from non-human eyes.
It feels like Dignity superseding personal Desire,
because we know that love is not about what I want, but about what we create.
We believe in powerfully relational horsemanship,
that prioritizes how can be together over what we can perform together.
Because we care about practicing horsemanship that feels right and we know, first hand, how transformational that is.
We remember that being with horses is a magical experience.
We marvel, daily, at the living fact that they are willing co-create experiences with us. We believe that those experiences can guide us, towards authentic relationships, care for our non-human friends, and building a world we are proud to make together.
our Connection-Based methodology
HOLISTIC
We all function better when our needs are met. Both horses and humans deserve a space that centers wellness in all our layers.
Compassionate
Approaching ourselves and our horses from a loving, empathetic center allows us to be in a relationship that is mutual and authentic.
mindful / aware
Building mindful awareness allows us to greater access our bodies, minds, and emotions. It also allows us to listen more deeply to our horses.
We want to work with you if you value
COLLABORATION where we meet one another in curious co-creation
DIGNITY where deep respect guides our collaboration
CARE where empower ourselves and others to meet their needs
AWARENESS where we meet ourselves with honesty and integrity
NUANCE where we see experiences as dynamic, inter-woven, and contextual
Our mission at Transformative Horsemanship is to empower individuals to connect with horses as companions, teachers, and guides, fostering mutual respect, understanding, and personal growth through transformative experiences in horsemanship.

"Quite magical of an experience!"
Hannah's approach to horsemanship is heart-centered and energetically intuitive. Treating the horses as the sovereign beings that they are, Hannah helps students learn how to connect first and consensually co-create a riding experience with them. I did some basic energy connection exercises under Hannah's tutelage and could really feel a strong energy channel between my torso and that of the horse, being able to guide the horse around in a circle with me without using force. Quite magical of an experience! I'd highly recommend!

"friendly, freedom promoting space"
As a horse rider for many years my interest in the technical aspect of riding has dwindled. Deep connection with horse nature, personalities, body language and behaviour is now my goal. I was able to feel into each horse in a safe, friendly, freedom promoting space and wonder at their teachings of who they are and what they reflected back about me.

"not just body, but heart and soul centered horsemanship"
I came into riding late in the game, (if there is a game to compare to)... but I believe it is because of Hannah's style of teaching, somatic and connection centered, that has led me into a fairly grounded first chapter. A real base to grow from of how to tune into the senses of horses, of myself and how I might be able to, not only ride, but share space with an attunement of both. I feel this learning could be ever deepening, and I really appreciate Hannah's sense of patience for the horse and the student! I have witnessed her ability to sense her students different learning styles, and does her best to create bridges to the varying ways of understanding. I got nothing but good things to say about Transformative Horsemanship, and Hold Your Horses alike, (the names of both programs say it all!) I'm not sure I could have imagined how delicious getting to know horses could be. Thank you Hannah for blazing a trail of, not just body, but heart and soul centered horsemanship! Transformative indeed.
